Roles and Functions

As Head of administration, the municipal manager of a municipality is subject to the policy directions of the municipal council, responsible and accountable for overall council duties as delegated by the council as stated in the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act section 55 (1). The following department’s reports to the Office of the Municipal Manager:

  • Governance and Strategic Planning,
  • Corporate Services
  • Treasury
  • Technical Services
  • Community Services
  • Development Planning Services
  • Public Safety
