As of 01 April 2025, motor licensing bureaus across the province of KwaZulu-Natal will no longer accept cash payments for services.
Accepted payment methods will be debit/credit card, or online payments through the RTMC website.
This change seeks to reduce the rate of cash handling errors, losses and cash- in- transit heists at registering authorities, improving customer convenience.
The change applies to the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing in Port Shepstone and Margate as well as Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Driving License Testing Centre ".
