RNM to Host Investment Conference

RNM TO HOST INVESTMENT CONFERENCE

The Ray Nkonyeni Municipality will host a groundbreaking two-day Investment Conference starting on the 23rd of this month. This event, which aims to unlock sustainable investment opportunities within RNM and the entire South Coast region, will be held at The Estuary Hotel and Spa, and is expected to be attended by leaders in the public and private space.
In line with the municipality’s commitment to enhance economic growth by creating a conducive environment for investment opportunities and infrastructure development, the consultative conference will serve as a platform to share the municipality’s strategic development plans that focus on key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, retail and manufacturing, mining and infrastructure development. There will also be engagement with existing and potential investors, business leaders, and other local stakeholders to discuss mutual interests and priorities for local economic development.
Held under the theme “driving sustainable growth through strategic investments”, the event will focus on several areas such as unlocking investment in infrastructure and development; tourism; manufacturing and retail; mining; agriculture and agro processing; Industrial Development Zones (IDZs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The conference will also seek to facilitate partnerships to strengthen collaboration across industries and drive sustainable projects, as well as identify challenges and potential solutions to investment-related obstacles in our municipality. To this end industries such as mining, retail, hospitality, infrastructure and others represented will interact on pertinent issues with, amongst others, the department of Economic Development in the Province; Public Works and Infrastructure as well as Trade Industry and Competition on the national front.
These deliberations will be key to focus the strategic direction of our region towards the future, informed by our goal of sustainable economic growth for social development. END
