Can I subdivide or rezone my property?

Some properties can be subdivided and some can not depending on the zoning and minimum lot size of each property. To obtain the information get all details of your property e.g. site description or address of the property ready and contact the Senior Town Planner/ Town Planning Technician on (039) 315 9242.

What are the town planning requirements to develop a certain property?

What is the application fee for rezoning, special consent, subdivision etc?

Who owns a certain property?

Have the site description of the property you are enquiring about and contact the Senior Town Planner/ Town Planning Technician on (039) 315 9242 or Rates Department on (039) 312 8300.

Can I operate a business from home?

Certain businesses can be operated such as crèche or day care centre limited to six children, however, you cannot operate a home business or activity without permission from the Council. For more information please contact the Senior Town Planner/ Town Planning Technician on (039) 315 9242

Can I remove trees from property?

In some instances you can remove the trees and in some you can not depending to the type of tree you want to remove. For more information please contact the Environmental Officer on (039) 315 9242 or 315 9254

The Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality (previously Hibiscus Coast and Ezinqoleni Local Municipality) is a Category B municipality situated within the Ugu District in the KwaZulu-Natal Province. It is the largest of four municipalities in the district, making up a third of its geographical area.
