Ray Nkonyeni Municipality supports South Coast Bike Festival which has in a way replaced the departed Africa Bike Week.
The municipality has pledged its support to the South Coast Bike Festival by injecting half a million for the next three (3) years and commit in providing in-kind services to the success of the South Coast Bike Festival. The new bikers event will have 3 stages, 8 festival bars, 40 SA top artists and bands, with Redbull Experiential Energy Zone featuring Gravity Action Clash Show, Enduro X Racing, Dezzies Festival of Speed, A world record dare-devil attempt, Loxion Motors Expression Session.
A concentrated marketing drive has been undertaken with billboards, on line marketing, Public Relations activities, Radio Broadcasting, Biking Magazine, Newspaper targeted spend - 30 media houses including television and radio. The event promises to be bigger than ever before and will continue to grow as the South Coast Bike Fest team has addressed the many problems that public and biking fraternity were experiencing in previous years.
The municipality strongly believes that injection of monetary value will yield enamours tourism revenue and this has prompted the municipality to strongly give support and ensure that an event of this nature needs to be sustained here in this beautiful place of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, South Coast and the province at large. As a caring government, we are of the view that ‘’The South Coast Bike Fest’’ will boost Business Sector, Retail, SMME’s, Young Entrepreneurs, and Hawkers. The municipality also anticipate that more bikers and the public will come here for that long weekend to enjoy warm weather and Blue Flag beaches and whole lot of leisure places our areas have. The event will now hosts all brands of bikes unlike the previous one and the support from the biking fraternity has been very well received - with bike bookings flooding our system. The event will be held on the weekend of 27 to 30 April 2017.
