Ray Nkonyeni Municipality launched various infrastructure projects which kick-started on 09 April and ended up on 20 April 2018. Like in previous years, it is a norm that the municipality officially launch the completed infrastructure projects as a way of improving the lives of the community of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.

In view of this, Her Worship the Mayor Councillor Nomusa Mqwebu started by handing over the Matolweni Road and a Bridge located Kwa Nzimakwe at Ward 10 which its project cost amounted to R2, 8million and has significantly created employment opportunities for about 20 people and lasted for a period of five months in its construction.

At Ward 29 in Mvutshini, the modernly built Mbili Gcabashe Road and Bridge was also handed over with 18 people getting employment opportunities in a R2, 5 million project. A well designed Betania Sportsfield with Combo Court and Bosiki Community Hall which is designed as a center with several structures were also handed over and the project cost were R2, 8Million and 5,7million respectively. There were 61 employment opportunities for both projects. Bosiki Hall structure has the capacity to lease offices and host community project and will in the upcoming phase have plenty space for parking.

In addition to the Capital Project handovers, Her Worship the Mayor Councillor Nomusa Mqwebu officially launched two community halls namely Kwa Slwane Community Hall at Ward 15 and AB Gigaba Community Hall at Ward 35. The community of Kwa Madlala was delighted to finally receive the much awaited hall and applauded the municipality for creating about 20 employment opportunities. The community leaders thanked the municipality for building a modernly designed structure such as AB Gigaba Community and has created employment opportunities of about 17 people.

The municipality urges the community to keep the facilities safe and ensure that they are not vandalised.
