As part of its stakeholder engagement programme the municipality will this coming Friday, 03 August, host a platform to engage business on its supply chain management policy and its implementation. This is intended to create an environment of transparency and accountability, whilst at the same instance exchanging valuable information with current and potential suppliers.

The session is aimed at all suppliers who have an interest to do business with the municipality, and is facilitated in conjunction with the Port Shepstone Business Forum. Important information related to the soliciting of tenders and mini- tenders will be tabled, including amendments which have been made to supply management policies in order to create an enabling environment for set- asides for targeted groups. In addition the meeting will discuss the municipality’s Contractor Development Programme and its implications.

Commenting on the session, the Municipal Manager Mr Max Mbili emphasised that the session will be of benefit to both suppliers and the municipality. “We believe that the information to be shared with suppliers will not only capacitate them on our processes and procedures, which will in turn add value to our economic outlook as a municipality,” he added.
